Sakari Laurila is a filmmaker, writer and producer. Since graduating as Master of Arts in film from the University of West London with A distinction in 2008, he has worked in the film and video industry in Helsinki, Barcelona, Berlin, UK and Cyprus. He has also produced and directed two feature documentaries and several short films. He has worked for the Finnish National Broadcast YLE as a freelancer and several other media outlets. He has also lectured in cinema history and has taught film-making in practice.
He has also worked in the theatre and performing art world since 2015.
Since 2012 he has ran his own production company (lumimaa.org) and since 2013 a creative cooperative for actors, writers and filmmakers (armascreative.fi) based in Finland
